Job Description

Quadriplegic man in the Joondalup area requires care. Successful applicant must be able to hoist transfer, willing to undertake personal care (showering, toileting, dressing and feeding). Home care duties included and ability to work alongside the Family to provide further training.

Hours include Friday and Saturday 4 hours a day. Female support workers preferred

This is a permanent part time position additional hours maybe offered.

 

Job Description

A delightful engaging woman requires a positive, bright, educated support worker who is experienced and capable to communicate clearly and effectively to provide full support for her to undertake her daily tasks. This lady has ABI and is very social so undertakes a wide range of social activities, her support worker will need to be qualified and experienced and able to undertake hoist transfers and drive an automatic van. Kallaroo area.

About us.

Elba is a non-profit community based organization established for the purpose of supporting people with disabilities and their families living as far North as Joondalup and as far South as Busselton.
The services offered by Elba include individual and home support, in-home respite, out-of-home respite, home help, community access and Host families.
Elba is governed by a Board of Management elected annually by the Members of the organization. Elba receives all its operating funds from the Western Australian Government in the form of an annual grant and from the NDIS.

What are the requirements?
• Have the right to work in Australia, visa holders welcomed.
• Have a Nationally recognized first aid certificate which is updated as required.
• Valid driver’s licence and be capable to use a hoist and drive a automatic van is essential for this position
• Be able to obtain a National Police clearance.
• Have English proficiency- effective communication and comprehensive skills.
• Hold a manual handling certificate or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing ongoing training will be provided.
• Willing to undertake personal care for quadriplegic member including home care, Personal care- showering, toileting, dressing, feeding.
• Supporting the member’s mobility through the use of hoists, slide boards, Wheelchairs and other equipment.
• Experience working with Spinal Cord Injuries.
